Clinical Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy Explained:
Hypnosis – a state a lot like day-dreaming. When you day-dream, you alter your state of consciousness to the alpha brainwave frequency region and engage in your fantasies. Hypnosis is a technique that enables you to achieve the altered state of consciousness – the daydream state – deliberately and direct your attention to specific goals and desired changes to achieve them.
Clinical Hypnosis – is a specific therapeutic treatment that uses a deep relaxation state to alleviate issues such as smoking cessation, weight loss, pain relief, or self-improvement.
Hypnotherapy – the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique to achieve a focused awareness or positive approach to create room for self-improvement by removing unwanted behaviors, thoughts, perceptions, and feelings.
The Silent Power of Subconscious:
Have you ever questioned whether all the experiences of your lifetime get lost into nothingness? Have you ever considered the possibility that a vast portion of your mind might be continually active absorbing and storing even the slightest detail of your everyday life without your conscious awareness? You probably have heard that your subconscious mind is active all the time; it constantly scans your environment and remembers everything, even when you sleep. This is the part of your mind that significantly influences your perception, thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
Can you remember when you were a little girl and got scared of a spider? Is it not strange how since then you remained scared of spiders and carried that feeling in your subconscious to your adult years? You probably understand that spiders are small and harmless, however, you cannot consciously override what your subconscious stored deep within many years ago, no matter what you say to yourself.
You may find eating burgers comforting because the family barbeques were the only times when your dad was truly relaxed and showed you the attention you longed for. As a result, you unconsciously reach for a burger instead of giving your dad or a member of a family a call when you feel glum because your subconscious mind connected the two – food and emotions – together.
Hypnotherapy is powerful because it directly communicates with your subconscious mind and lets you change the fundamental beliefs that may be outdated and limiting you, and adjust your perception for the improved and balanced you.
3 Questions You Probably Want Answers To Before You Contact Me:
Can Anyone Be Hypnotised?
Not everyone can be hypnotised. Most people, however, can and will quickly reach the comfortable state of deep relaxation. Others may remain consciously resistant to hypnosis, and because clinical hypnotherapists only use suggestive techniques, it means that if an individual is not willing to be hypnotized, then it most likely will not happen.
Will I Lose Control?
No, you will remain in control throughout the sessions. You will be conscious of the surroundings, will be able to talk or even get up and walk about. Clinical hypnotherapy, unlike the stage hypnosis, is a different process with very different purposes.
Can Hypnosis Make Me Do And Say Things I Don’t Want To Do Or Say?
No, in hypnosis you cannot be made to do or say anything you do not want. In hypnosis, you retain power over your ability to act upon suggestions, and it is only you who will decide which suggestions you will accept and which ones you will reject.
